Berwin Leighton Paisner and Bryan Cave agree merger

Bryan Cave and Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) have announced they will merge, officially launching in early April.

This is the second high-profile merger in less than a week, hot on the heels of the announcement by Hunton & Williams and Andrews Kurth Kenyon.

The new firm will operate as Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP with combined revenues of more than $900 million, according to the announcement. The new global firm will be home to over 1600 lawyers in 32 offices across 11 countries.

Currently the footprint of both law firms overlaps in Hong Kong, Singapore, Frankfurt, London and Paris. London-based BLP is the smaller of the two legacy firms and it has additional offices in the Middle East and Africa.

Neither Bryan Cave nor BLP has offices in the Iberian-American region. Bryan Cave is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, and it has a significant Latin American-flavoured arbitration practice out of its Miami office which opened in 2014. The firm has assisted clients on a variety of transactions and projects in Latin America, notably in Mexico.

The new combined firm will be led by co-chairs Therese Pritchard in DC and Lisa Mayhew in London.
