Paul Hastings and Costa e Tavares Paes advise Fosun on Brazilian expansion

Paul Hastings and Costa e Tavares Paes Advogados worked together to assist Fosun on its acquisition of Guide Investimentos, the Brazilian brokerage and wealth management firm.

Fosun Group was founded in 1992 and is now one of China’s largest private-owned investment conglomerate.

Guide Investimentos is a brokerage and wealth management firm founded over 50 years ago. It is a subsidiary of Banco Indusval, a Brazilian bank, which will remain with up to 20% stake in the company after the sale.

Fosun will initially pay $52 million for this acquisition, and an additional $37 million depending of the company’s future performance. This transaction marks Fosun’s third major acquisition in Brazil.

The Paul Hastings team advising Fosun was led by partners Jia Yan and David Wang Shanghai and Roberta Bassegio in Sao Paulo.

Fosun also instructed Costa e Tavares Paes Advogados in Sao Paulo.
