Brigard, Gómez-Pinzón and PPU instructed on Veolia acquisition in Colombia

Brigard & Urrutia advised Veolia on the acquisition of Aseo Urbano in Colombia from Acon. The latter instructed Gómez-Pinzón while PPU acted for Lanoga, a stakeholder in Aseo Urbano.

 

wheelie bin 2272721 640Veolia Environnement is a Paris-headquartered multinational which focuses on water management, waste management, transport and energy services. It has operations in 48 countries. 

Aseo Urbano is based in Cúcuta, in the north-east of Colombia. The company, through its 18 affiliates, handles waste management services throughout the Atlatic coast, the west and the centre of Colombia, including the cities of Manizales, Cali, Mocoa and Pasto. 

Lanoga Enterprise is a holding company and a shareholder in Aseo Urbano. Aseo Urbano was owned by Acon Waste Management, which is controlled by private equity firm Acon. 

The value of the deal was not disclosed. As Veolia already owns several other companies in Colombia, the deal was suject to regulatory approval. 

Partner Sergio Michelsen led the team at Brigard & Urrutia advising the buyers, Veolia. 

Acon, the sellers, retained a legal squad at Gómez-Pinzón fronted by partner Andrés Hoyos. 

Lanoga instructed Philippi Philippi Prietocarrizos Ferrero DU & Uría , with partners Martín Acero and Diego Cardona leading the team.
