Carey, Winston guide Enel Chile on $1bn bond issuance
Enel Chile instructed Carey in Chile and Winston in NY for its $1 billion bond issuance. The underwriters retained Cravath and Alessandri & Cía.
Enel Chile is the country´s largest utility by installed capacity and it is 60% owned by Italian electricity company Enel. In April 2018 the company completed a complex corporate reorganization which started in 2016. Both Carey and Winston & Strawn had roles throughout the reorganisation process.
For this issuance, partner Diego Peralta led the team at Carey while partners J. Allen Miller and Sey-Hyo Lee fronted the line-up at Winston.
The underwriters relied on Cravath in New York, with partner David Mercado at the helm; and Alessandri & Cía in Chile. The latter squad was led by partner Fernando Jamarne.
