A&O, Carey, PPU and Ropes & Gray guide $560m telecom loan in Chile

Carey in Chile and Ropes & Gray in London advised telecoms company VTR on a $560 million loan. The banks relied on Allen & Overy in London and PPU in Chile.

The financing to VTR included a revolving credit line for $185 million; a local long term loan for CLP (Chilean peso) 174 billion (aproximately $275 million) and another revolving credit line for CLP 15 billion (aproximately $24 million.)

Partners Pablo Iacobelli and Guillermo Acuña led the Carey team which provided Chilean law counsel to VTR. The company instructed Ropes & Gray in London for international law.  

Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría advised the banks under Chilean law. This team was fronted by partner Marcelo Armas who is also the co-chair of the law firm. 

For international law, the banks instructed Allen & Overy.
