Felsberg advises Crocs on copyright infringement lawsuit
Felsberg Advogados has advised Crocs Inc. on its copyright infringement lawsuit against COQUI Shoes in Brazil.
Crocs had taken legal action againt the Brazilian company to demand it cease using a logo and image similar to those copyrighted by the US-based footwear company, and Rio de Janeiro’s state court of appeals’ 25th appeal bench of civil judges has ruled that COQUI Shoes not only violates Crocs trademark rights, but is capable of causing confusion among consumers.
The court decision prohibits the sale of COQUI Shoes and awarded damages to Crocs based on trademark violation and unfair competition.
Felsberg partner Diego Vieira advised Crocs on the case.
