Mexico’s Mijares advises Alpek on power plant divestment
Mexican law firm Mijares, Angoitia, Cortés y Fuentes has advised locally listed petrochemicals company Alpek on the sale of two co-generation power plants located in Cosoleacaque, in Veracruz state, and Altamira, Tamaulipas state.
The two plants have a combined generation capacity of 932 megawatts, of which 518 megawatts will be operational after the fivestment, and are located at Alpek petrochemical plants in the aformentioned states.
The transaction consisted of Alpek’s total divestment of its share in the plants, and the buyer is CG Terra, an afiliate of ContourGlobal PLC, for a total $801 million.
