White & Case acts for Samay I on Peruvian power plant refinancing

White & Case LLP has advised Samay I, a portfolio company of global private equity firm I Squared Capital, on the $330 million refinancing of its 708-megawatt cold reserve power plant located in the Arequipa region of Peru.

Carlos Viana of White & caseThe refinancing loan provided by international commercial banks is being used to repay indebtedness under an existing project finance facility and other purposes.

Samay I specialises in energy, utilities, telecom, transport and social infrastructure investments in the Americas, Europe and Asia.

The White & Case team that advised on the transaction was led by partners Carlos Viana (pictured) and Jeannine Acevedo in Miami, and included associates Lina Messa in Miami and Valentina Castillo in Washington, DC.
