BDO integrates González & Uribe in Costa Rica
Law firm BDO has integrated González & Uribe in Costa Rica to strengthen its legal and tax presence in Latin America, in a move which brings some 50 lawyers and three partners to the firm.
The move makes BDO one of the largest law firms in Costa Rica.
BDO already had a strong presence in Latin America, with 61 offices in 18 countries.
“From Spain, the firm will take advantage of the business opportunities that energe for its clients between both continents, responding to clients’ needs in their investments, given the leading position the firm enjoys in each market,” BDO said in a statement.
BDO’s legal and tax practice has more than 14,700 lawyers globally, and more than 1,800 partners in 124 of the 167 countries in which the firm operates. The legal area is one of the firm’s major growth businesses, having expanded by more than 15 per cent over the past 10 years.
“We are increasing our integration in BDO with specialised law firms that are well positioned in their markets, which allows us to offer new services with very experienced teams in different practice areas,” Ignacio Legido, BDO’s head partner in SPain and an executive member of the firm’s legal community services, said.
Legido said that “Latin America is strategic for BDO and for BDO in Spain by being able to participate in operations with a high economic impact and support investments in the region from our global position”.
