ECIJA El Salvador integrates Selegales

ECIJA El Salvador has strengthened its criminal law practice with the integration of local law firm Selegales, which specialises in economic criminal law, with the appointment of Enrique Araujo as a new partner in the firm.

Araujo has more than 27 years’ experience in penal law, focusing on prevention and company compliance, having worked as an adviser to companies and helping them improve their corporate governance. 

Alfredo Navas Duarte, the managing partner of ECIJA El Salvador, said, “his step by the firm aims to incorporate a much in-demand practice into our pool of services, and we aim to offer integrated advice to our clients”. 

He said that economic crimes have become more complex with globalisation, leading to companies’ increased need for specialised counsellors in this area. 

The integration of Selegales is part of ECIJA’s global expansion strategy, which the law firm launched three years ago, consolidating ECIJA as the Spanish law firm with the largest presence in Latin America, in 10 countries, with a total of 11 offices, 36 partners and a total of 222 lawyers across the region.
