ECIJA Panama participates in launch of COVID-19 SOS portal

Law firm ECIJA’s Panama office has participarted for free in the launching of a portal allowing citizens to both seek and offer help amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Daniel Shamah of ECIJA PanamaThe portal, SOS COVID-19, was created together with Fundación iHelp, IE University and tech companies Service Now and Volteo, and is a free service in English, Spanish and Italian offering assistance to victims of the pandemic.

“We have created a platform that can easily connect people in need of help with people that can help,” according to the portal’s presentation. “Our purpose is to add order and efficiency to the process, giving voice to those who need it most, and facilitating a fast flow of support.”

The portal serves as a cloud-based solution so that its users can publish their needs and request help, whole also allowing those who are able to offer assistance to reach out to victims, according to ECIJA. 

ECICA partner in Panama City Daniel Shamah (pictured) said, “the firm has a vision of solidarity with citizens, and we feel it is vitally important to contribute from the legal sector and offer innovative solutions to those who are most in need at this time, and which is why we have decided to launch this initiative in this country, as we understand the need for collaboration and solidarity with the citizens of Panama”.
