Mattos Filho opens office in Campinas

Mattos Filho has opened an office with all its full-service structure in Campinas, in São Paulo state.

João Marcos ColussiFollowing the example of large international law firms that seek to expand their operations in important economic centres, the new office will allow an even closer and faster service to customers located in the nine metropolitan areas of the state of São Paulo, outside the state capital, the firm said in a statement.

The partners João Marcos Colussi (pictured) and Vilma Toshie Kutomi will head the new office, focusing on all practice areas.

The arrival of Mattos Filho in Campinas further reinforces the firm’s commitment to, together with its growth, supporting its clients’ businesses, generate jobs for local professionals and contribute to the region’s socio-economic development.

“This is a region that has been consolidating an important economic position in the country. In addition to expanding our operations, we are generating new opportunities, and the opening of the office allows us to be closer to clients in the metropolitan areas of the state of São Paulo,” Roberto Quiroga, managing partner of Mattos Filho, said. 

The team dedicated to the metropolitan area of Campinas and other locations in the state of São Paulo will comprise two senior partners and five lawyers.

The new office will also be supported by the entire infrastructure of Mattos Filho in Brazil and abroad, with a team of lawyers with recognized experience in the legal market and guided by a culture of collaboration,” João Marcos Colussi said.

Even though the COVID-19 pandemic has directed business towards the digital environment worldwide, Mattos Filho maintains its long-term strategic vision and invests in a hybrid work model, in which clients have the option of virtual assistance or face-to-face, according to their needs, and always respecting the guidelines of the health agencies to ensure the safety of everyone, the firm said. 

With the office in Campinas, Mattos Filho also wants to generate a relevant social impact for the metropolitan regions of São Paulo, promoting diversity and inclusion initiatives and supporting projects that aim to build a better society for all.
