EY Law Costa Rica counsels lenders on 3Pillar loan

EY Law in Costa Rica has advised the lenders on a loan granted to US-based software developer 3Pillar Global

Arturo Apestegui BarzunaThe law firm acted as local counsel in the Central American country to BBVA USA, the US subsidiary of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, and Metlife Private Equity Holdings, as lenders. 

EY Law’s role included the structuring, drafting and registration of the Costa Rican security package of a credit granted to 3P Parent Inc., 3Pillar Global, Inc., and 3Pillar Holdings LLC.

The amount of the loan was not disclosed.

Metlife Private Equity Holdings is an affiliate of MetLife, Inc., one of the largest insurance companies in the US. 

EY Law’s team advising the lenders was led by associate partner Arturo Apéstegui (pictured), with EY Law manager Magda Morales (pictured below).   

In the US, the lenders were advised by Dorsey & Whitney (Dallas, Texas) and K&L Gates (Charlotte, North Carolina), while 3Pillar was represented in Costa Rica by BLP Legal and in the US by Willkie Farr & Gallagher (New York City).
