PPU Chile advises nine companies on JV creation

PPU Chile has steered the necessary steps to obtain approval of the Chilean FNE

Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría assisted on the creation and obtaining the FNE’s approval for the establishment and development of the GSBN Platform JV (Global Shipping Business Network). It is an initiative based on a blockchain solution designed to accelerate the digital growth of current processes in the shipping industry, in particular for the issuing of transport documentation and processes such as cargo release, and that will offer services to all players in the industry.

The consortium involved the following companies: CMA CGM S.A.; COSCO SHIPPING Lines Co., Ltd; COSCO SHIPPING Ports Limited; Shanghai International Port (Group) Co. Ltd; Hapag-Lloyd AG; Hutchison Ports Development Ltd; Orient Overseas Container Line Ltd; PSA i-Tech Pte. Ltd; y Qingdao Port International Co., Ltd.

This operation is participated by the most relevant companies in the maritime cargo transport industry, and whose purpose is the development and use of new digital technologies (especially blockchain), which is expected to have a substantial impact on the industry’s operations at a global level.
