Carey assisted OPDEnergy in CIFI financing

Carey has guided OPDEnergy on obtaining long-term non-rotating financing for up to $22,5 million

Carey helped OPDEnergy to obtain long-term non-rotating financing for up to $22,5 million granted by Corporación Interamericana para el Financiamiento de Infraestructura (CIFI), for the development, construction, initial operation and related expenses of small distributed generation projects to be developed by Xue Solar (Llay Llay), Lingue and Litre, located in the Valparaíso Region.

It is innovative that the development of these projects (PMGDs) has increased exponentially over the years, allowing the generation of jobs in different places as well as the contribution to the country’s energy network. On the other hand, while advising the projects was made jointly, each one had its credit agreement and its own financing-related documents, and it involved reviewing and addressing the differences between them. Total amounts per project: $9,190,891 Llay Llay, $2,241,164 Lingue and $2,164,266 Litre.

Carey team was led by partner Felipe Moro (pictured), and involved associates Fernanda Valdés, Fernando Noriega, and Rafael Mackay.

Morales & Besa counselled CIFI with team led by partner Myriam Barahona, and involved associates Ignacio Vargas, Ignacio Chomalí, and Javier Balbontín.
