Pinheiro Neto counsels bookrunners on Petrobras notes purchase

Pinheiro Neto Advogados has advised the dealer managers on the $2 billion operation

Pinheiro Neto Advogados advised as external legal counsel of the dealer managers on a Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. – Petrobras notes purchase. A consortium of banks acted as bookrunners: BofA Securities, Inc., Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., HSBC Securities (USA) Inc., Itau BBA USA Securities, Inc., J.P. Morgan Securities LLC, Santander Investment Securities Inc. and Scotia Capital (USA) Inc.

Tender offers to purchase for cash by Petrobras Global Finance B.V. (“PGF”) of any and all of its outstanding notes of 10 different series. The amount of the transaction reached $2 billion.

Pinheiro Neto team was led by partner Ricardo Russo (pictured), and involved counsel Marcos Saldanha Proença, associate Gustavo Guedes Araújo, and trainee Luísa Reis Lopes Correia.

Shearman & Sterling LLP acted as the bookrunners’ external US legal counsel, and Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP was the issuer’s External US Legal Counsel.
