Marval, O’Farrell Mairal has assisted at the merge of the two oldest flag Argentinian carriers
Marval, O’Farrell Mairal advised Aerolíneas Argentinas S.A. in its merger process with Austral Líneas Aéreas-Cielos del Sur S.A.
Aerolíneas Argentinas was the absorbing company and Austral the absorbed one. The reorganization implies the merger of the two oldest flag carriers in Argentina and represents the culmination of a highly complex process in Corporate, Regulatory, Tax, Contractual, and Labour matters.
The merger, registered with the Inspección General de Justicia on 29 December 2020, will enable the merged company to face the challenges posed by the greatest crisis in the aeronautical industry’s history more efficiently.
Marval, O’Farrell Mairal advised on the merger through a team of specialists in Corporate, Administrative, Regulatory, Labour and Tax law led by partners Pablo García Morillo (pictured left) and Diego Sebastian Krischcautzky (pictured right), and involved associates Andrea Verdasco and Marianela Bollo.
Aerolíneas Argentinas director of Legal Affairs Nicolas Sykes led the in-house process.
