DLA Piper appoints Margarita Oliva Sainz de Aja as head of Banking and Finance for Latin America 

DLA Piper has hired the Spanish lawyer as partner in DLA Piper Argentina but resident in DLA Piper New York Office

Margarita Oliva Sainz de Aja (pictured) has extensive experience in Project Finance matters, particularly in helping major multilateral agencies, commercial financial institutions, sponsors, project companies and ECAs structure and negotiate complex, multi-jurisdictional infrastructure and energy transactions. She also advises clients on a variety of general Bank Finance, Capital Markets and Corporate transactions, including cross-border Mergers & Acquisitions, Restructurings and Outsourcings.

“Margarita brings more than two decades of wide-ranging experience advising financial institutions and sponsors on financing transactions across Latin America. Her addition to our team will greatly enhance our capabilities and will be beneficial to clients across our global platform,” said Christopher Paci, the New York-based chair of DLA Piper’s US Capital Markets practice and a member of the firm’s core Latin America leadership team.

Oliva will be a partner of DLA Piper Argentina, resident in the New York office of DLA Piper. She joins from Baker McKenzie, where she served as chair of the Latin Finance practice in North America. She received her J.D. from Universidad de Granada and her LL.M. from Harvard Law School.
