Guerrero Olivos counsels oEnergy on Chilean photovoltaic development
Guerrero Olivos has assisted oEnergy Capital on a JV to develop a 120MWp photovoltaic portfolio in Chile
oEnergy Capital and BEE Sudamérica, an affiliate of German energy group Blue Elephant Energy, entered into a joint venture for the development, construction, debt structuring, operation and maintenance of approximately 120 MWp 12 solar photovoltaic projects in Chile.
Relevance to this transaction is that oEnergy will maintain energy projects on a long term for the first time. Until recently, its business’ core was to develop, build, and sell the projects on a short term and then continue with the operation and maintenance of the said projects.
Guerrero Olivos represented oEnergy and DLA Piper Chile assisted Blue Elephant Energy. It was a multi-practice area transaction. The Corporate, Financing, Energy and Tax teams of Guerrero Olivos and DLA Piper Chile’s Energy and natural resources and Tax teams worked in the deal.
