ECIJA promotes new partners in Mexico and Chile

Adalberto Méndez (pictured right) was appointed partner in ECIJA Mexico, and María Dolores Echeverría (pictured left) was promoted in ECIJA Chile to strengthen the areas of Corporate/M&A, Labour Law, Information Technology, Human Rights and Corporate Social Responsibility.
One year after joining ECIJA Mexico’s office as Business & Human Rights Counsel, Adalberto Méndez has been invited to become a firm partner at a global level, expanding in the country the specialised practice in Business, Human Rights and Corporate Social Responsibility. With this, ECIJA Mexico consolidates its position as the first law firm with this practice in the country.
Adalberto Méndez has several years of experience in transactional corporate advice, “Compliance”, and strategic litigation and legal risk prevention for human rights violations by companies. He has an extensive background as a Corporate lawyer and public official and has served as a consultant to companies, governments and international organisations in 17 countries. Recently, he advised the Corporate Responsibility and Due Diligence Law Initiative in Mexico, the first regulatory project in Latin America regarding corporate responsibility for human rights violations.
On the other hand, María Dolores Echeverría is promoted as the first female partner in ECIJA Chile. Thus, ECIJA strengthens the Corporate / M&A, Labour Law and Information Technology areas in Chile. Echevarria es the fourth local partner of the firm.
María Dolores has more than twenty-eight years of professional experience advising important national and international companies on labour, corporate, consumer protection and information technology matters. The lawyer joined the office as an attorney and has developed her entire career in ECIJA Chile. She has been recognised as an outstanding lawyer by international publications.
