PA counsels UBS on Argentine investment banking venture
Pérez, Alati, Grondona, Benites & Arntsen has advised UBS BB’s Argentine subsidiary on the launch of a Joint Venture with Banco Patagonia
Due to the Joint Venture with UBS, Banco Patagonia will provide Argentina-based clients with access to investment banking services, M&A and advisory services, and international debt and equity capital markets through UBS BB’s Argentine subsidiary, in an agreement announced last February the 9th.
Under the terms of the agreement, UBS BB affiliates located abroad cannot operate in international capital markets transactions in which the target investors are Argentine residents.
Enrique Vivot, UBS BB’s head of investment banking for the Southern Cone, called the partnership with Banco Patagonia an “opportunity to become a leading investment banking franchise in the country.”
João Pecego, president of Banco Patagonia, highlighted, “we are furthering our strategy to expand our presence in the local market and provide our clients with increased access to the international markets.”
