Hernández & Cía. Abogados strengthens its Arbitration practice with the addition of a new partner Caterina Miró Quesada Samanez from White & Case LLP
With this addition, Hernández & Cía. Abogados strengthens its Dispute Resolution practice area, which now has a team of 15 lawyers, bringing both strength and international experience to the arbitration team.
With 14 years of experience, Caterina has participated in high-profile national and international arbitrations, advising both sovereign states and private investors in disputes arising from investment contracts and treaties before ICSID, and commercial disputes before the ICC, CIAC, among others, with a focus on International Arbitration in Latin America.
Her expertise lays in advising private and public sector clients on litigation and negotiation strategies and preparation, as well as in the preparation of policies and strategies in the context of dispute resolution, including the identification of potential conflicts of interest and the proposal of strategies to mitigate them, if any.
Juan Luis Hernández, managing partner of the firm highlighted: “We are constantly seeking to improve ourselves. Mobility and analysis of market trends are key to succeed in the legal industry and we had identified the need to strengthen our arbitration practice, domestic and international, so bringing Caterina to co-lead our Arbitration team is the right addition for us. She brings experience and strength to the team and I am confident that this move will set us apart from our competitors.”
Caterina states that: “I knew I wanted to join a top firm with an arbitration practice area where I could expand my career. I was looking for the right fit and was quite impressed, since the first approach, on how easy and comfortable I felt with the team at Hernandez. We also share the same views on how to boost the practise area”.
