Honorato Delaveau assits HMC-AGF on injection of funding
Honorato Delaveau has advised HMC Administradora General de Fondos to receive $ 40 million dollars in funding from IDB Invest and IFC
Honorato Delaveau has assisted HMC Administradora General de Fondos to receive $ 40 million dollars in funding from IDB Invest and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in a transaction closed on 13 April.
Both IDB Invest and IFC contributed $20 million dollars to the fund, apparently, the first time both have invested in a private debt fund in Chile.
The proceeds of the fund are being used to invest in medium-sized companies in Chile, Colombia and Peru to recover from the negative economic impact caused by the covid-19 pandemic on these types of companies.
In addition to funding, IDB Invest will support the fund’s operations by providing diagnostic technology, which will help oversee diversity, gender equality and inclusion within the fund, as well as its investments.
IFC will also help the cause with additional support to MMEs benefiting from the fund, with the aim of promoting wealth diversification throughout the Andean region.
HMC-AGF aims to receive up to $100 million dollars through the fund. The company is the fund management arm of Chilean alternative investment firm HMC Capital, where the former group manages assets of around $15 billion dollars and has operations in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and the United States.
The Chilean investment management company, HMC-AGF, had previously been advised by Honorato Delaveau in structuring the HMC Deuda Privada Andina Investment Fund, which has a seven-year maturity.
Honorato Delaveau’s team was led by partner Sebastián Delpiano (pictured left), along with associate Nicolás García (pictured right); while Ricardo Mogrovejo Morón acted as In-house counsel for HMC-AGF.
