CQS/FV Advogados opens White Collar Crime Law area

Cesnik, Quintino, Salinas, Fittipaldi and Valerio Advogados expands its portfolio and starts operating in the area of White Collar Crime Law

CQS/FV – Cesnik, Quintino, Salinas, Fittipaldi e Valerio Advogados law firm expands its insurance portfolio and begins to work in the area of Corporate Criminal Law. The new department is part of the expansion project that began with the entry of partners José Maurício Fittipaldi, Ygor Valerio (pictured left) and Felipe Senna (pictured center) in December 2020, when the firm also changed its nomenclature and began to have a stronger presence in the technology sector.

Besides the work focused on digital crimes, the office also expanded its practice in General Criminal law, with the hiring of the criminalist Marjori Ferrari (pictured right).

The team adds broad expertise in the media and technology area to the technical knowledge of the market to offer unparalleled advice in fighting cybercrime and piracy in both advisory and litigious cases, acting both preventively and reactively, as well as structuring and implementing projects, adapting to legislation, monitoring surveillance and support for investigative police operations.

Ygor Valerio holds a post-graduate degree in Intellectual Property from FGV/SP, is the assistant secretary of the Copyright Committee of the Federal Council of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) and the Co-coordinator of the Copyright Studies Committee of the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association (ABPI), in addition to being the Chief Counselor of the National Council for Combating Piracy of the Ministry of Justice (CNCP) from 2015 to 2020. Highly experienced in the audiovisual and technology sectors, he has 15 years of experience in the legal departments of large companies such as Adobe, Microsoft, Nokia, and institutions including Motion Picture Association (MPA) and Antipiracy Cinema and Music (APCM).

Felipe Senna is a member of the Anti-Piracy Committee of ANCINE (National Cinema Agency), a board member of the Brazilian Association of Pay-TV (ABTA), of the Anti-Piracy Committee of OAB/SP, and of Alianza Contra La Pirateria de Televisión Paga. With a 16-year career, he managed the anti-piracy area at Fox Networks and Sky Brasil. He is a specialist in Intellectual Property, including software production, licensing and protection. He holds an LL.M. from Beasley School of Law, Temple University Japan Campus, with focus on Intellectual Property, Content Protection and Technology; LL.M. in Business Law from FGV and post-graduate studies in cybercrime and electronic contracts from OAB.

Marjori Ferrari is a criminal lawyer with solid experience of more than 15 years working both in consultancy and litigation in renowned law firms such as David Rechulski Advogados and D’Urso e Borges Advogados. She has post-graduate degrees in Economic Criminal Law from the Institute of Economic and European Criminal Law (IDPEE) of the University of Coimbra Law School in partnership with the Brazilian Institute of Criminal Sciences (IBCCRIM), in Criminal Procedural Law from the São Paulo Autonomous Law School (FADISP), and in Criminal Law from the Superior School of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of São Paulo (ESMP/SP).
