Facebook Pay is a virtual payment service, launched in April, that allows you to transfer money through the Facebook, Messenger, Whatsapp, and Instagram apps. Brazil was one of the first countries in the world where the platform was launched.
With Facebook Pay it is possible to transfer an amount to another person, buy a product for sale on social networks, among other operations. The payment method is processed by Cielo S.A.
The law firm Mattos Filho helped design the regulatory structure of the new platform, Facebook Pay. Mattos Filho’s advice involved the design of Technology, Data Protection and Cybersecurity, Litigation, Payment Methods, and Tax Aspects.
