Demarest announces the hiring of new Tax partner

Demarest annouces the arrival of Maurício Barros, another step in strengthening the areas that make up the firm’s core business

Demarest announces another strong reinforcement to its Tax team. Maurício Barros (pictured) arrives at the firm bringing with him more than 20 years of experience advising large players in different market segments. The new partner’s versatility extends to a wide variety of academic activities and a term as a judge at the São Paulo State Tax Court (TIT) from 2014 to 2019.

Holding a doctorate in Economic, Financial and Tax Law from USP, a master’s degree and specialization in Tax Law from PUC-SP and IBET, respectively.

Throughout his career, Maurício has advised both domestic and international clients on matters involving taxes, restructuring of operations, mergers and acquisitions, foreign investments, among others.
