Machado Meyer Advogados advised Companhia Brasileira de Distribuição (GPA) in the negotiation to sell 71 stores located in several states of Brazil to Sendas Distribuidora S.A. (Assaí), which was represented by Pinheiro Guimarães.
The transaction includes the transfer of certain stores operating as Extra Hiper that will be operated as Assaí. The transaction also includes the sale of certain properties and the transfer of lease agreements.
Closing of the transaction is subject to compliance with certain conditions precedent.
Machado Meyer acted as legal counsel to GPA and was led by partners Eliana Chimenti (pictured top left), Guilherme Malouf (pictured top right), and partners Alessandra de Souza Pinto, Andre Luiz Menon Augusto, Fernando Tonanni and Rodrigo Seizo Takano.
