Lefosse advises Lojas Americanas on corporate restructuring

Lefosse Advogados advised Lojas Americanas on one of the biggest transaction of the year in the retail segment wich should move around BRL 40 billion

Lefosse Advogados advised Lojas Americanas and its shareholders in the merger process with americanas S.A. Both are currently listed on the Brazilian stock exchange.

The transaction is still subject to approval at the shareholders’ meetings and should move approximately R$40 billion, according to the current market value of the companies. After the conclusion of the corporate restructuring, the two companies will be traded under the same ticker on B3’s Novo Mercado, a trading segment with the highest standards of corporate governance.

The partner in the Corporate Finance area at Lefosse, Carlos Mello (pictured), coordinated the transaction, accompanied by counsel Leonardo Batista.
