Machado Meyer advises CBA on debentures issue

Machado Meyer Advogados advised Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio and UBS Brasil Corretora de Câmbio, Títulos e Valores Mobiliários S.A.

Machado Meyer Advogados acted as legal counsel to Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio (issuer) and UBS Brasil Corretora de Câmbio, Títulos e Valores Mobiliários S.A. (underwriter) in the 1st issue of simple debentures, not convertible into shares, unsecured, in a single series, for public distribution with restricted efforts.
The issuer’s issuance had a total value of R$ 230 million.

The transaction was special because the debentures are “green bonds” and, therefore, will be destined to the development of projects that aim at improving the environmental performance of the production structure and the indicators listed in the Issuer’s Green Bond Structure.
