Larrain y Asociados counsels Centella on $146m in financing

Larrain y Asociados has advised Centella Transmisión on a 146 million financing for the development of an electricity transmission line

 Larrain y Asociados has counselled Centella Transmisión S.A. in a $146,150,000 US dollar green loan financing granted by Natixis, New York Branch, and BBVA S.A. New York Branch.

The funds will be used to develop, construct, own and operate both the 2x220kV power transmission line with an approximate length of 250 kilometres and a nominal capacity of 580 MVA per circuit, which will connect the Nueva Pan de Azúcar substation, the Punta Sierra substation, the Nueva Los Pelambres substation and the Nueva Los Pelambres (220kV) substation located north of Santiago de Chile (Centella Project), as well as the 4x220kV power transmission line with an approximate length of 3 kilometres and a nominal capacity of 580 MVA per circuit, connecting the Nueva Los Pelambres substation to the Los Piuquenes-Tap Mauro transmission line, located in the Coquimbo Region in Chile (Tap Mauro Project).

The transaction was closed on 3 December 2021, with Milbank acting as New York counsel to Centella, Baker McKenzie Chicago as New York counsel to the creditors and Baker McKenzie Chile as Chilean counsel to the creditors.
