Demarest Advogados announced the hiring of Angela Cignachi Baeta Neves (pictured) as a new partner to reinforce the firm’s strategic planning. The new partner will work with the higher courts in Brasília.
Angela has a master’s degree in Social Function of Law from FADISP/UNIALFA (Alves Faria University Center), a post-graduate degree in Electoral Law from PUC-MG (Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais) and a law degree from UniCEUB (University Center of Brasília).
With 19 years of experience in Brasília, the professional will dedicate herself to the Tax and Civil Litigation areas, mainly in cases before the STJ (Superior Court of Justice) and the STF (Federal Supreme Court). The new partner will also be responsible for the office in the federal capital.
Twice, Angela was the most voted lawyer to integrate the three-nominee list for the position of substitute minister of TSE (Superior Electoral Court). Last year, for the first time in history, the list of nominations was formed only by women.
The lawyer is also vice president of Ibrade (Brazilian Institute of Electoral Law) since 2017 and is a member of the Special Commission on Electoral Law of the Federal Council of the OAB (Brazilian Bar Association).
