Arrubla Devis appoints Rafael McCausland as partner

Arrubla Devis has announced the appointment of Rafael McCausland Echeverry as a new partner of the firm

 Colombian law firm Arrubla Devis has announced the promotion of Rafael McCausland Echeverry, a member of the firm since 2015, as a new partner.

Rafael McCausland is a lawyer from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and a specialist in Business Law from Universidad Externado de Colombia. Prior to joining the firm, he was an associate at Posse Herrera Ruiz and VGCD, as well as advisor to the office of the Minister of the Interior.

He focuses his practice on Commercial and Corporate Law, as well as contractual matters, both in consulting and litigation. He has also participated in numerous arbitration tribunals, complex litigation and in the processing of extraordinary appeals. In addition, he advises start-ups and scale-ups on international corporate structuring, fundraising, investment rounds and due diligence processes.

He has been a university professor of Public International Law at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and of the Private Law specialisation at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana. He has been a trainer for the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Competition and is currently a professor of Contracts II at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and guest professor of Corporate Conflicts in the specialisation of Commercial Law at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana. He is co-author of the book Inmunidad Soberana de los Estados: Un modelo a la medida de Colombia.
