Lefosse announced the promotion of six lawyers to partners of the firm, in the Investment Funds, Dispute Resolution, Corporate and M&A and Tax practices. Now, the firm has 55 partners, an expansion aligned with the firm’s full-service legal excellence strategy.
The new partners are (pictured on the top line to left from right) Bernardo Pires (Dispute Resolution), Carla Gorescu (Corporate and M&A), Dante Zanotti (Tax) and (pictured on the bottom line to left from right) Julio Queiroz (Investment Funds), Lígia Padovani (Corporate and M&A), and Rodrigo Cunha (Corporate and M&A).
Bernardo Pires, a partner in the Dispute Resolution practice, focuses his work on complex judicial and arbitration proceedings. He holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Law from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and an LL.M. in International Law from George Washington University (USA).
Carla Gorescu, a partner of the Corporate and M&A practice, is a specialist in merger and acquisitions, private equity transactions, structuring of joint ventures and corporate reorganizations, with broad experience in different sectors and, specially, energy sector, having participated of several self-production by equivalence projects (projetos de autoprodução por equiparação). Carla has advised Brazilian companies and funds doing business in Brazil and abroad and multinational companies and foreign private equity sponsors in cross border transactions. She graduated in Law and obtained her master’s degree in Corporate Law from Escola de Direito de São Paulo da Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV). Carla is the author of the book Delimitação da Indenização em Operações de Fusões e Aquisições no Brasil (Designing the Indemnification in M&A Transactions in Brazil), published by Almedina in 2020.
Dante Zanotti, a partner of the Tax practice, has expertise in tax planning and consulting in direct and indirect taxes, with an extensive practice in taxation of international transactions, financial market operations, in consulting and litigation matters involving transfer pricing and in tax aspects of corporate restructuring and M&A. He obtained his bachelor’s in law degree from Universidade de São Paulo (USP) and is specialized in Tax Law by Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV).
Julio Queiroz, a partner of the Investment Funds practice, has extensive experience in structured transactions in financial and capital markets, especially involving public offerings and structuring of investment funds, including in the context of private equity and venture capital, purchase and sale of distressed assets and credits, structured finance and special situations. Julio holds a bachelor’s degree in law from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) and an LL.M., as an Instituto Ling scholar, from University College London, where he was awarded the Valentine Korah prize in 2012, and is a Ph.D. candidate in Commercial Law at Universidade de São Paulo (USP).
Lígia Padovani, a partner of the Corporate and M&A practice, focuses her work on mergers and acquisitions, structuring of joint ventures, private equity and venture capital operations, mezzanine investments, corporate restructuring, and cross-border transactions. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from the State University of Londrina (Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL)) and a master’s degree in Commercial Law from the Law School of the University of São Paulo (USP), with several articles published in scientific journals.
Rodrigo Cunha, a partner in the Corporate and M&A practice, is specialized in mergers and acquisitions (M&A). He advises a wide range of investors and companies on M&A transactions, corporate restructurings, and joint ventures. Rodrigo obtained his LL. B from University of São Paulo (USP), his LL.M from University of Pennsylvania and received the Wharton Business and Law Certificate from Wharton’s Aresty Institute of Executive Education. He acted as a foreign.
