Vieira Rezende announces a new partner
Vieira Rezende Advogados announced Bernardo Viana (pictured) as a new partner. Bernardo advises groups from various industries on compliance challenges and represents companies named in major investigations in the country and in leniency agreement negotiations.
He specializes in internal investigations of all kinds, from behavioral issues to challenging international fraud and corruption cases. Bernardo also assists in the implementation, enhancement and execution of compliance program routines, such as conducting due diligence on M&A projects and higher risk stakeholders, negotiating contractual protections, training senior management, among others.
Bernardo also works in the creation and implementation of Money Laundering Prevention Programs (PLD-FTP) and Crisis Management of the most varied types.
He was the partner responsible for creating the Compliance area of Almeida Advogados, is egress of Tauil & Chequer Advogados, and co-founder of Hughes Hubbard in Brazil. He is a Professor at FGV and President of the Commission for the Prevention of Money Laundering of IASP. Bernardo also completed an LL.M. at Columbia University.
