Marval promotes two new partners

Marval O’Farrell Mairal has announced the appointment of Sergio Vergara and Martin Vainstein as new partners of the firm as of 1 December 2023, to strengthen the Tax and Litigation areas.

Sergio (pictured left) joined the firm in 2011 and currently works in the Tax area, with a special focus on tax litigation (at national, provincial and municipal level), transfer pricing, criminal tax law and social security law. He graduated as a lawyer from the University of Buenos Aires and completed a postgraduate specialization in Taxation at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the same university. Prior to joining Marval, he worked at Celia Cajide, Adolfo Martul y Asociados, and Estudio Palacios Hardy.

Martín (pictured right) joined Marval in 2014 and currently works in the Litigation and Arbitration department. He graduated as a lawyer with honours from the University of Buenos Aires, completed a Master in Law and Economics at Torcuato Di Tella University and a summer course on International Dispute Resolution at Oxford University, and obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M) at Georgetown University, where he was selected as one of the International Arbitration Scholars of his class. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at Abeledo Gottheil Abogados, was an International Lawyer at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP (New York) and interned at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).
