Gómez-Pinzón reincorporates Alejandro Linares as partner
Gómez-Pinzón has announced the return of Alejandro Linares Cantillo (pictured) as a partner of the firm. During his absence, Alejandro served as a Magistrate of the Constitutional Court of Colombia. His experience in the public sector adds to his previous work as a partner at Gómez-Pinzón for twenty years, and managing partner for sixteen of those years.
Alejandro’s return brings a wealth of experience and strategic vision, reinforced by his deep knowledge of the public and private sectors. His balanced approach, common sense and close links with academia make him an invaluable asset to the firm. In addition, Alejandro’s complex issues management and mentoring skills will significantly enhance the firm’s strategic initiatives, enriching the team.
Alejandro’s distinguished career includes his recent eight-year tenure as a Magistrate of the Constitutional Court of Colombia, where he also served as President of the Court, where he was instrumental in upholding the rule of law and democratic institutions. He was also Legal Vice-President and General Counsel of Ecopetrol, the Colombian national oil company.
Following his reinstatement, he will focus primarily on strategic advice on international commercial transactions and transnational litigation and arbitration. His role will focus on leveraging his in-depth knowledge of international commercial law, both in civil and common law jurisdictions.
