Carey in acquisition of Sanitas and Chemopharma in favor of SAVAL

Carey has advised Laboratorios SAVAL in the acquisition -subject to the approval of the National Economic Prosecutor’s Office- of the Chilean pharmaceutical companies Instituto Sanitas and Chemopharma.

With this acquisition, closed on September 3, Laboratorios Saval would consolidate its position as the largest Chilean laboratory and one of the main players in Central and South America and the Caribbean with presence in 14 countries.

The transaction involved the structuring and negotiation of a carve-out of the seller’s non-pharmaceutical assets, the negotiation of transitional services and the conduct of an in-depth regulatory due diligence. Claro y Cía acted as advisor to the sellers, while Larraín Vial acted as financial advisor.

Patrick Balaresque and Vicente Martínez Galarza acted as in-house lawyers for Laboratorios SAVAL.
