Luzone Legal strengthens the tax area with a new partner

Luzone Legal announced Daniel Santana (pictured) as a new partner in the tax, customs and immigration area. Daniel, who has been part of the firm’s team for almost a year, works on preparing opinions and reports on tax matters, taking into account the legislation and the guidance of administrative and judicial case law.

He graduated in Law from Centro Universitário Fluminense and has an MBA in Tax Law from FGV/RJ. He is also a member of ABRADT (Brazilian Tax Law Association) and has over 15 years of experience in the market, accumulating extensive experience in the areas of immigration and tax law.

In addition to being fluent in English, Santana holds a postgraduate degree in Public Law from ESAP/PGE-RJ (Higher School of Public Law), with the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Rio de Janeiro.

In the litigation area, Santana will work on preparing defenses and appeals in administrative and judicial tax proceedings, as well as in lawsuits challenging the collection of taxes illegally collected at municipal,
state and federal levels. His work also includes the administrative recovery of tax credits, tax planning and transactions, and consulting for foreigners who become tax residents in Brazil.
