Berardo Advogados introduces a new partner
Berardo Advogados has introduced a new partner: Juliana Maia Daniel (pictured).
With more than 15 years’ experience and a practice focused on competition, compliance and investigations, Juliana has worked for major Brazilian full-service law firms and has a career that combines solid academic training with highly complex legal practice.
After almost 10 years at Lefosse Advogados as a lawyer and partner, Juliana has just returned from the prestigious summer program at the International Anticorruption Academy in Vienna. With a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of São Paulo (USP), Juliana completed her international studies in global governance (Master Proféssionnel) at Sciences-Po, in Paris, and competition law at the Florence Competition Program on Law and Economics at the European University Institute.
Over the years, she has coordinated the competition, compliance and regulatory investigations practices at the renowned law firms she has worked for. Her experience ranges from advising large companies on M&A processes and compliance programs to representing clients in complex crisis management cases and internal investigations, including relevant roles in high-profile operations in Brazil.
She regularly participates in national and international events, discussing integrity and anti-corruption issues. She is also active in trade organizations, such as the Brazilian Institute for Competition, Consumer and International Trade Studies (IBRAC) and the International Bar Association (IBA), contributing to the development of competition law and compliance in Brazil and abroad.
