Azevedo Sette Advogados bids farewell to founding partner

Last Monday, May 12, at the age of 84, lawyer Ordélio Azevedo Sette (pictured), founding partner of Azevedo Sette Advogados, one of the co-founders of CESA – Centro de Estudos das Sociedades de Advogados (Center for Law Firm Studies) and who worked as an external consultant for the UN (United Nations), passed away, President of the International Chamber of Commerce of Brazil (CIC-BR) and member of the Advisory Board of the Council of the Americas, based in Washington, DC, and of CONSEA – the Higher Council for Advanced Studies of FIESP – Federation of Industries of São Paulo and BIAC – Business Industries Advisory Council of the OECD – Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, based in Paris, France.

In 2023, Ordélio was honored as Life Achievement of the Year by Latin Lawyer, a special award that recognizes only one lawyer in Latin America each year, and whose criteria are the analysis of the senior professional’s life story and their relevant contributions to the legal profession over their many years of practice, joining a select list of 8 other lawyers who received the award in previous years, all with remarkable stories and considered references in the legal market.

Ordélio graduated in Law (Class of 1966) and holds a PhD in Public and Constitutional Law from the University of Brasilia, with a specialization in International Negotiation from the Organization of American States (OAS) and in Law.
