Ritch Mueller advises on Bancomext’s USD 500 million bond offering

Ritch Mueller has counseled Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, SMBC Nikko Securities America, BBVA Securities, and Scotia Capital (USA) on the issuance of USD 500 million in 5.875% notes due 2030 by Bancomext through its Cayman Islands branch. The transaction is a step in Bancomext’s funding strategy and reinforces its position in the international capital markets.

The cross-border transaction, closed on May 7, 2025, involved the United States of America, the Cayman Islands, and  Singapore.

Ritch Mueller’s lead partner was Luis A. Nicolau Gutiérrez (pictured) along with Darío Hernández Guzmán, Isabel Hedrosa Navarrete, Luis Miguel Posadas Yáñez (lead counsel), and Patricio Valenzuela Guzmán.

Other firms advised on the transaction, which includes Paul Hastings as the counsel to underwriters; Galicia Abogados as the issuer’s counsel; Simpson Thacher acted as the issuer’s counsel, and Maples Group as the issuer’s counsel (Cayman Islands).
