Trench Rossi Watanabe joins climate initiative by Ekos Brasil

The Commitment to the Climate initiative, coordinated by the Ekos Brasil Institute, has announced that Trench Rossi Watanabe has joined as its newest partner.

The law firm will now be responsible for the legal analysis of the selected projects. The collaboration aims to strengthen legal certainty and support regulatory compliance in the structuring of high integrity carbon projects, boosting the climate agenda in Brazil.

Compromisso com o Clima (Climate Commitment), active since 2017, connects companies interested in offsetting their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to high-integrity socio-environmental projects that generate carbon credits and proven social and environmental benefits. The operating model includes the registration of carbon credit projects, which undergo an eligibility and technical analysis conducted by the Ekos Institute and also a strategic legal assessment, to be carried out by Trench Rossi Watanabe. With this, the initiative has stood out for its technical rigor and focus on the quality of the projects supported, contributing to sustainable development and the fight against climate change.

The arrival of Trench Rossi Watanabe adds to the initiative a legal expertise of more than 30 years in environmental law, climate change and sustainability. The firm, renowned for its work on complex cases and its in-depth understanding of national and international regulations, will provide essential support for the analysis and legal structuring of carbon projects, ensuring greater robustness and compliance for operations.
