Machado Meyer advises LATAM on agreement with WTW
Machado Meyer Advogados advised LATAM, Latin America’s largest airline, in the negotiation of an important operating agreement with broker Willis Towers Watson (WTW), which marks the company’s entry into the distribution of insurance products through the channels of LATAM Pass, its loyalty program. The transaction represents a strategic move to diversify revenues and expand LATAM’s sales channels.
Through the partnership with WTW, LATAM Pass customers will be able to purchase a wide range of insurance products—such as auto, home, cell phone, and life insurance—and earn airline miles with these purchases. Product sales began in July 2025, following the signing of the agreement between LATAM and WTW in February of this year.
In addition to leading the negotiation of the operating agreement, Machado Meyer continues to advise LATAM on the structuring and formalization of insurance representation contracts with the partner insurers involved in the initiative.
The work is being conducted by Machado Meyer’s Insurance partner, Thomaz del Castillo Barroso Kastrup (pictured), with the assistance of attorney Giovana de Almeida Silva.
