Cescon Barrieu advise ABAAS in a case before the STF

Cescon Barrieu advised the Brazilian Association of Wholesale Retailers (ABAAS) in Direct Action of Unconstitutionality No. 7,719/PB, reported by Minister Dias Toffoli (STF), which questioned the constitutionality of Law No. 9,771/2012 of the State of Paraíba. The decision declared the rule unconstitutional, establishing the thesis that “laws that require supermarkets or similar establishments to provide free bags or packaging for purchases are unconstitutional, as they violate the principle of free enterprise.”
