Larrain y Asociados counsels Minera Los Pelambres on the sale of power transmission assets
Larrain y Asociados has advised Minera Los Pelambres, part of Antofagasta Minerals, in the sale of the power lines owned by its subsidiary Los Pelambres Transmisión to Transemel, a subsidiary of the Portuguese energy group Redes Energéticas Nacionais (REN).
Through this transaction, the mining arm of the Luksic Group divests 144 kilometers of transmission networks and other regulated assets that form part of Chile’s national electricity system. The transaction amount remains confidential.
Larrain y Asociados’ advisory team was led by partners Jorge Granic (pictured left), Francisco Cerda (pictured center), and Juan de Dios Ferrada (pictured right), with associate María José Díaz.
Villarino e Ilharreborde also participated in the transaction, with partner Cristóbal Villarino and associates Gabriel Valdés and Sebastián Garcés providing legal support.
The deal marks another step in the consolidation of Chile’s transmission infrastructure, as international players such as REN continue to expand their footprint in the country’s energy sector.
