Pérez-Llorca appoints new litigation partner in Colombia

Pérez-Llorca has appointed Felipe Suescún de Roa (pictured) as a new partner in Colombia. He joins the firm to further strengthen the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, one of the firm’s key areas in the country.

Suescún de Roa brings more than 20 years of professional experience, with a strong background in national and international arbitration, dispute resolution, and business law.

Throughout his career, he has been involved in complex arbitrations across different jurisdictions, seats, and applicable laws, including Argentina, Colombia, France, Mexico, New York, Switzerland, and the UNIDROIT Principles, primarily under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (BCC).

He is widely recognized in Colombia and across Latin America as a leading practitioner in his field by numerous independent rankings, guides, directories, and publications, including Legal 500, Chambers & Partners, Latin Lawyer, and Lexology, among others.

Suescún de Roa holds a law degree and a specialization in Commercial Law from Universidad de los Andes, as well as an LL.M. from Georgetown University. In the academic sphere, he has served as a professor of Obligations, Civil Liability, and Business Law at Universidad de los Andes, and as a lecturer in Arbitration and Corporate Law in programs offered by the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, the National University of Colombia, and the Superintendence of Companies.
