Rolim Goulart Cardoso advises Iveco on its sale to Italy’s Leonardo
Rolim Goulart Cardoso advised the Iveco Group on the sale of the remainder of its defense division to Italy’s Leonardo for 1.7 billion euros.
The deal was announced last year. Previously, Leonardo already owned 50% of Iveco Defense through a joint venture with the Iveco Group. The acquired company has production and research facilities in Brazil, and its product portfolio includes light and medium armored vehicles, heavy armored platforms, and logistics and tactical vehicles, primarily for military applications.
Rolim Goulart Cardoso advised the Iveco Group, with partners Fabio Appendino and Alessandra Torres, senior associate Sophia Galbas Rezende, and associate Gabriela Balkanski Melo.
Freshfields acted as global legal counsel to the Iveco Group, coordinated by its Italian office, led by partner Nicola Asti and senior associate Giulio Politi, with the support of senior associate Vittoria Deregibus, associate Domitilla D’Ambra, associate Ludovico Bruno, and trainee Matteo Piccione.
Antitrust and foreign subsidy regulation matters were coordinated by partner Ermelinda Spinelli, together with associates Michael Tagliavini and Niccolò Antoniazzi.
