Larraín y Asociados advises Banco Consorcio on $100M syndicated loan
Larraín y Asociados has acted as local legal counsel to Banco Consorcio in the structuring, documentation, and closing of a US$100 million international syndicated loan governed by New York law. The international creditors under the transaction are Banco Santander (Spain), Bank of China Limited (Grand Cayman Branch), and Korea Development Bank, with Banco Santander-Chile serving as Administrative Agent.
The transaction represents a cross-border financing involving multiple legal teams across Chile, New York, and Spain, reflecting the complexity of international syndicated lending structures subject to foreign law.
On the borrower’s side, Larraín y Asociados was represented by partner Diego Garay (pictured) and associate Ana María Sepúlveda as Chilean counsel. New York counsel to Banco Consorcio was provided by Clifford Chance, with partner Hugo Triaca and counsel Alan Sakar.
The lenders were advised by Garrigues Chile as Chilean counsel, with partner Antonio Morales and associates Fernanda Jara and Elna Petrowitch. Holland & Knight acted as New York counsel to the Administrative Agent, with partner Stephen Double and associate Jorge Ballen. Addleshaw Goddard provided Spanish counsel to Santander Spain, with partner Joaquín Sales and associate Fernando Raga.
