Pérez-Llorca advises IFC on $150m Banco de Bogotá facility
Pérez-Llorca advised the International Finance Corporation (IFC) as local legal counsel on the structuring, negotiation, and closing of a financing facility granted to Banco de Bogotá for up to USD 150,000,000. The transaction was structured in three tranches and documented through a Loan Agreement and a Common Terms Agreement governed by the laws of the State of New York.
The facility is designed to fund the origination of sub-loans directed at three categories of beneficiaries: sustainable construction projects certified under the Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies (EDGE) Advanced standard or comparable international certifications; small and medium enterprises (SMEs); and companies undergoing technological conversion and operational efficiency improvements.
The operation reflects IFC’s and Banco de Bogotá’s commitment to supporting sustainable economic growth in Colombia. The financing is intended to enable beneficiary companies to access long-term capital to modernize productive processes, improve energy and water efficiency, adopt more efficient technologies, and strengthen their competitiveness in the domestic market.
Pérez-Llorca’s Colombia team advising IFC was led by partner Daniel Londoño Pinzón (pictured), supported by senior associate Catalina Prieto Núñez and junior associate Natalia Elena Soto Flórez. Hunton Andrews Kurth (New York) acted as lead counsel to IFC on the transaction.
