Broadfield and IW Melcheds form a partnership in Brazil

Broadfield, a partner-owned global law firm operating in strategic partnership with SHP Legal Services, an affiliate of A&M Inc., is expanding into Brazil through an association with IW Melcheds, a São Paulo-based firm with over a decade of experience in corporate law, M&A, private equity, compliance, tax, and litigation. The São Paulo office marks Broadfield’s first foothold in Latin America.

The association will allow Broadfield to serve clients with interests across Brazil and Latin America, while giving IW Melcheds access to Broadfield’s expanding global platform. The combined offering is intended to cover legal, tax, regulatory, and operational matters, leveraging Alvarez & Marsal’s existing presence in Brazil through the SHP Legal Services structure.

Peter Sacripanti, Chairman of Broadfield Holdings, noted that Brazil is one of the fastest-growing legal markets in the world and that São Paulo serves as a strategic hub for clients operating across the Americas. The association with IW Melcheds is intended to provide Broadfield with a local presence backed by lawyers combining business acumen with commercial judgment.

Ricardo Inglez de Souza and Roberto Rached, co-Managing Partners of both IW Melcheds and Broadfield Brasil, underscored that their clients increasingly operate across multiple jurisdictions and multicultural environments. The association with Broadfield is designed to provide a more robust framework for cross-border matters while preserving IW Melcheds’ capacity to deliver technically rigorous advice in Brazil. Luiz Werneck and Rodrigo Mello also serve on the IW Melcheds board of directors.
